What is the Study Bible?

The Study Bible is originally a series of books with all kinds of in-depth reading on the Bible. Think word study, commentary and rendering of the original language. In March 2018, all that information was turned into an app. It can be used on the desktop (Study Bible online) and via an app (Study Bible app). The Study Bible continues to be expanded each time with new features, new content and technical improvements.

With the Study Bible app/online, you can access the rich content of the Study Bible anytime, anywhere. Whether you are on the go, at church or at home, you can instantly open the app and take advantage of the rich resources and tools available.

The Study Bible app/online includes information from at least 25,000 pages of Bible study material. The app offers you deep insight into the Bible with extensive word studies, commentaries, concordances and theological articles.

StudyBible is part of the Center for Bible Research (CvB). The CvB also publishes a Study Bible magazine. The book series is still sold by the BoM, but is no longer updated.

Your Study Bible account allows you to log in on one device at a time. However, you can easily switch between different devices. • Select 'Use Study Bible on this device' If you want to log in to the relevant device with your account.

  • Select 'Continue on other device' if you do not want to log in to this device anyway. You will then return to the Study Bible login screen.

Do I need internet for the Study Bible?

For Study Bible Online (on the computer) you always need the Internet. You can use the Study Bible app offline. However, it is required that when you use the Study Bible app for the first time , an internet connection is available. This is necessary for the one-time build-up of the offline database the app uses.  After this, you can use the Study Bible app without an Internet connection. You can download the Study Bible app from the AppStore or in the PlayStore.
