The Center for Bible Research considers careful handling of personal data of great importance. We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) and take appropriate measures to secure this data.
1. What personal data do we process?
When using our Study Bible apps, we may process the following data:
- Name, address and place of residence (NAW data).
- Phone number
- Billing address
- Email address
- Payment details
- Gender
- (Profile) photo
- Date of birth
- Location information (if permission granted)
2. Purposes and legal grounds for processing.
We process your personal data only when there is a legal basis for doing so. This could be:
- Execution of an agreement: In registration, subscription management and orders.
- Consent: For newsletters, marketing messages and location data.
- Legal obligation: such as tax retention requirements for payment records.
- Justified interest: To improve our services and prevent fraud.
3. Retention periods
We do not keep personal data longer than necessary:
- User account information: as long as the account is active. After deletion, the data will be deleted within 6 months.
- Payment details: 7 years (legal retention requirement).
- Contact form and customer service: no more than 1 year after settlement.
4. Disclosure to third parties
We share personal data only when necessary:
- With payment providers for subscription processing.
- With third-party service providers who help us secure and improve our services.
- In the event of a legal obligation or legitimate interest (such as fraud investigation).
Certain cooperation partners are located outside the EU. We ensure that these parties comply with AVG standards.

We take appropriate security measures to prevent abuse, loss or unauthorized access. Your data is stored and transmitted encrypted.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Review, correct or delete your information.
- Withdraw your consent for processing operations based thereon.
- Request a copy of your data (data portability).
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
- File a complaint with the Personal Data Authority.
7. Cookies and tracking
Our app uses Google Analytics, where IP addresses are anonymized and data sharing with Google is disabled. You can opt out through your device settings.
8. Changes to this privacy statement
We may modify this privacy statement. Please refer to it periodically for updates.
