I think this, you think that, but how do we know what it really is?

How do you use the Study Bible at a Bible study circle?

In 1998, I attended a Bible circle for the first time. There the Bible opened up for me. Together with my circle friends, we discovered the meaning of Bible texts, brought what we had discovered into prayer, and thought about how to make what we discovered our own in our lives. That time was a huge blessing! As a young believer, it made me grow in my faith and gave me a panorama of insights into God's plan for our lives.

I still regularly meet Christians who want to pay more attention to the Bible in their church circles. Although there is an intense warm love for each other in their circles, they experience it as a lack if the explanation of a Bible text is missing. Together with their circle mates, they read the Bible text and everyone tells what they think of it, but that is where it stops. Differences that may surface at such times create uncertainty.

'I think this, he thinks that and she thinks that, but how do we know what it really is? Or doesn't it really matter??'

At such times, the Study Bible app can be of great value. We'll give you a few reasons why:

1️⃣ The Study Bible app includes all professional Bible translations. Whether it's the Revised State Translation, the Naarden Bible or the 2021 New Bible Translation, these and many other translations can be looked at together. They can also read together from the same Bible. Those who come across differences in these translations can even discover what is in the source text via the Study Bible's interlinearity.

2️⃣ The Study Bible commentary is rather to the point and written as clearly as possible. You can think of it as a paper Bible teacher that can help a circle better understand the Bible text. In circles where all kinds of opinions easily come to oppose each other, users experience this as a healthy added value. It helps to deepen the conversation about the Bible text and not get bogged down in individual circle members' own opinions.

💡 Finally, may I end with a tip for every Bible circle? Choose together to study a particular book of the Bible more deeply through Study Bible. By doing so, you will benefit enormously from the gold treasures of Bible knowledge that Study Bible has to offer. You will gain a very thorough understanding of the particular book of the Bible and will discover that it is of benefit to your growth in faith.

I wish you a good time at your Bible circle!

The sin of Cain and the character of God
13 May 2026

28 April 2026
