Our team member Hermien is 21.5 years of service. How nice, Hermien! She hereby introduces herself to you:
My name is Hermien Henning, married to Johan for 41 years and together we have three children and five grandchildren.
I have been with the BoE since January 2000.
After being home for over a decade to take care of our children, it was time to return to work outside the home. I was barely looking when I was asked if I would like to work four hours a week in the Center's administration department. Grateful for this opportunity, I eagerly went to work.
After a few years, it turned out that I could also make myself useful in the field of correction work, and still later I got to help import Study Bible content in both the Dutch and Spanish versions.
A lot has happened and changed over the years. Now the book series is complete, we have a modern administration system, a wonderful Bible app and a versatile team of part-timers who support and complement each other. How much I have enjoyed and learned from them!
When my retirement age arrived six months ago, I chose to remain involved with the Center. Our new colleague Marianne (she introduced herself earlier) has taken over the administrative part of my job so that I can quietly do the import work at home.
I feel privileged to engage in this way and at the same time be enriched myself by the still growing Study Bible. God is the Giver, to Him be all glory!
