January 30, 2025 - Maaike van der Graaf

In life, we all encounter times when we need comfort. Whether it is grief, stress or other challenges, the Bible offers us powerful words that can encourage and comfort us.

The following texts remind us of God's comforting presence in our lives.

Psalm 34:19

"Broken people the LORD is near, He saves those who are sorely afflicted."

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

"Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father who has mercy on us, the God who always comforts us and gives us courage in all our misery, so that through the comfort we ourselves receive from God we may give courage to others in all their misery."

Isaiah 40:1

"Comfort, comfort my people, says your God."

Matthew 5:4

"Happy the sorrowing, for they shall be comforted."

Romans 15:4-5

"All that was written in the past was written to teach us, that by persevering and by drawing comfort from the Scriptures we might continue to hope. May God, who makes us persevere and gives us comfort, give you the unity that Christ Jesus asks of us."
