The Study Bible Books

The complete Study Bible series contains the Old and New Testaments in 29 volumes.

What else does the Study Bible series offer?

Old Testament

The Old Testament contains 12 volumes. The Hebrew is printed with transliteration and interlinear translation, to bring the root language as close as possible to the readers (who may or may not be proficient in Hebrew).

With the Hebrew there are Strong numbers to recognize derivations of the same words and for looking up in theological dictionaries and electronic Bible programs. There are many references to the New Testament.

The New Testament contains 17 volumes with: an introduction and synopsis of the four gospels, ten volumes with explanations of the NT books, followed by five volumes with word studies Greek. Finally, a volume with extensive study of Greek names and an index of Dutch-Greek words (so that, starting from Dutch, you can consult the relevant Greek word study).

Good to know

The Study Bible books contain the content of the original first edition of the Study Bible.This content is not revised in the Study Bible books through content updates and additions.

In the subscription of the Study Bible app this does happen: the OT commentary undergoes there (for free) a slight revision and the NT commentary a substantial revision and expansion. In the purchase version of the Study Bible app, this does not happen automatically, but content updates can be purchased.

So the Study Bible books offer a wealth of information, but lack the content updates that are incorporated in the Study Bible app.
